Scroll through our slide show to see a generalization of the pool construction process. First we lay out the pool to your specifications. The pool is then dug and formed. The dirt is either used to grade out your yard or is hauled away. The steel frame, an important backbone to your pool, is put in, using a 1/2" and 3/8" steel schedule. The pool shell is installed using a procedure called "Shot Crete", where the concrete is fired onto the steel frame with a gun and then formed and shaped by hand. This is one of the strongest possible swimming pool shells available. After letting the concrete cure for about a week, it is now safe to add details to the shell. Tile, coping and other custom details such as Sheer Descent waterfalls are added at this point. It is safe for the decking to be installed any time from this point on. A hand troweled plaster finish is added. This layer is about 1/4" and is troweled as smoothly as possible. It is rugged, durable and waterproof. Your step and loveseat marker tiles are added during this process. At the final stage, water is pumped into the pool as the plaster cures, and shortly afterward the equipment can be shipped and installed. Your pool can now be started and you'll be enjoying an authentic, quality APS pool! |
